David M. Rubaltelli, MD earned his medical degree at Jefferson Medical College after completing an undergraduate education at Dartmouth College. Dr. Rubaltelli trained in the two year fellowship in VitreoRetinal Diseases and Surgery at the Schepens Retina Associates and the Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary, Boston, after completing his Ophthalmic training as a Resident in Ophthalmology and subsequently, Chief Resident in Ophthalmology at the Saint Vincent Catholic Medical Center in New York. Dr. Rubaltelli has been a phase III clinical sub-investigator of a sustained release Dexamethasone compound for macular edema, and investigated the anatomical and functional changes in patients with choroidal neovascularization secondary to Age Related Macular Degeneration after treatment with intravitreal Avastin. In addition, he has a strong surgical interest in complex retinal detachment surgery and utilizes advanced vitreoretinal surgical techniques such as wide angle viewing and small gauge vitrectomy. Dr. Rubaltelli is on staff at the Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary where he is an Assistant in Ophthalmology, and he is a valued addition to our team of subspecialists devoted exclusively to the delivery of the highest quality care for patients with retinal diseases.
